| This process uses a foil, which is pressed onto the component by a heated roll or block. The resulting mark is indented into the surface of the component and is also colour infilled by the dye from the foil. This process is used on cables, flex, pipes and tubes which can have a convex or flat profile, marked by continuous rolls or used on books, diaries, menus etc via hot foil flat blocking. Leather articles also lend themselves to this type of mark.
